Graves and Rouzer Statement on Sean McMaster’s Nomination for FHWA AdministratorWashington, DC – Joint statement of Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Sam Graves (R-MO) and Highways and Transit Subcommittee Chairman David Rouzer (R-NC) ahead of the scheduled May 14th Senate Environment and Public Works Committee hearing on the nomination of Sean McMaster to serve as Administrator of the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA): “President Trump made a great choice in nominating Sean for this important position, and we are glad to see the Senate moving forward with his nomination hearing. Sean is a knowledgeable and seasoned infrastructure policy expert, with years of experience in the transportation sector. He also has valuable experience as a high-ranking Department of Transportation official during President Trump’s first term. Sean has a strong understanding of the legislative process, and we are confident that under his leadership at FHWA, Sean will be indispensable as Congress works with the Administration to pass a multi-year surface transportation reauthorization bill to improve our roads and bridges, move people and goods safely and efficiently, and get America building again. We hope the Senate continues its historic pace of confirming President Trump’s nominees and quickly confirms Sean along with the rest of Secretary Duffy’s leadership team at the Department.” |
