Washington, DC – Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Sam Graves (R-MO) today announced the promotion of Mira Lezell to serve as Staff Director of the Subcommittee on Highways and Transit.

Mira first joined the Subcommittee as a senior professional staff member in August 2021.  Prior to that, she served from 2019 to 2021 in the Office of the Secretary of Transportation.  Mira also has over a decade of experience working in Congress, including serving on the staff of a former senior Member of the Appropriations Committee and as Chief of Staff to a former senior Member of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.

“Mira’s years of experience and expertise in the various issues under the Subcommittee’s jurisdiction will be invaluable in our ongoing oversight of the Biden Administration’s implementation of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, and as we ramp up our preparations for the next major surface transportation reauthorization,” said Chairman Graves.
