The Subcommittee on Water Resources and Environment, chaired by U.S. Rep. Bob Gibbs (R-OH), will hold a hearing next week on recently completed Army Corps of Engineers Chief’s Reports for proposed water resources development projects.

A Chief’s Report is the Corps’ final recommendation to Congress for a proposed water resources development project, following an examination of feasibility, cost, and other factors.  The Committee reviews recently completed Chief’s Reports as part of the process of developing a Water Resources Development Act, and several reports have been provided to Congress since the Committee’s last review during a hearing in February.

Next week’s hearing, entitled, “A Review of Recently Completed United States Army Corps of Engineers Chief’s Reports,” is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2016, in 2167 Rayburn House Office Building.

Major General Donald “Ed” Jackson, Deputy Commanding General – Civil and Emergency Operations, United States Army Corps of Engineers, is the hearing’s only scheduled witness.

More information about the hearing, including testimony, additional background information, and link to live webcast will be posted here as it becomes available.
