Maritime Transportation’s Role in International Food Aid Programs to be Focus of Joint HearingThe Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure’s Subcommittee on Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation and the Committee on Agriculture’s Subcommittee on Livestock and Foreign Agriculture will hold a joint hearing next week on the role played by the maritime industry in the transportation of food aid and how proposed changes to existing food aid programs and cargo preference rules would affect that historic partnership. The joint hearing of the two subcommittees, entitled, “U.S. International Food Aid Programs: Transportation Perspectives,” is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 17, 2015, in 1300 Longworth House Office Building.
