Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Bill Shuster (R-PA) will join U.S. Department of Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx on Wednesday in answering questions on Twitter about the next surface transportation reauthorization; the need to strengthen the Nation’s highways, bridges, and transit infrastructure; and the future of transportation in America.

Starting today, use the hashtag #StuckInTraffic to submit questions about the upcoming bill, and Chairman Shuster and Secretary Foxx will answer as many questions as possible beginning at approximately 12:00 noon (EST) on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 from the Committee’s Twitter account @Transport and the Secretary’s account @SecretaryFoxx.  This will be the first Twitter town hall hosted by a House Committee Chairman and sitting Cabinet Secretary.

Chairman Shuster and the Transportation Committee continue to develop a long-term surface transportation bill that improves America’s infrastructure and competitiveness, provides economic growth, and helps create jobs.  The current extension of surface transportation law will expire at the end of May.  On Wednesday morning, immediately before the Twitter town hall, Secretary Foxx will testify before Shuster’s Committee at a hearing on surface transportation reauthorization.  The town hall will begin immediately following the conclusion of the hearing.
