Subcommittee to Hold Hearing with FEMA Administrator on Disaster Readiness, Response & RecoveryEconomic Development, Public Buildings, and Emergency Management Subcommittee Chairman Scott Perry (R-PA) announced that the Subcommittee will hold a hearing to receive testimony from Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Administrator Deanne Criswell on the agency’s disaster preparedness, response, and recovery efforts. Committee Members will raise a number of potential issues with the Administrator related to recent disasters, such as Hurricane Idalia and Tropical Storm Hilary; droughts, storms, and flooding in various regions of the country; and the recent wildfire in Hawaii – one of the deadliest wildfires in U.S. history. On September 7th, Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Graves and Ranking Member Larsen sent a letter to Administrator Criswell requesting information about how federal disaster assistance programs and resources have been deployed following the Maui fire.
