Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Bill Shuster (R-PA) released the following statement today after the President vetoed a bill that would approve construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline project:

“The President’s disappointing rejection of this jobs bill is a missed opportunity to act in the best interest of the country and the American people.  This veto says ‘no’ to tens of thousands of jobs, greater energy independence, and lower energy costs, and according to the President’s own State Department, this action will have no significant impact on the environment.  The President has said he supports creating American jobs and improving American infrastructure, but today he chose to do neither.”
