Committee Hearing to Launch Surface Transportation Reauthorization Process

Transportation and Infrastructure Chairman Bill Shuster (R-PA) on Tuesday will hold the first hearing in the Committee’s efforts to develop new legislation to reauthorize federal surface transportation programs.

The federal programs were last authorized under the Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act (MAP-21), which was signed into law in July 2012 and expires at the end of September.

The hearing of the Full Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, entitled “Building the Foundation for Surface Transportation Reauthorization,” is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 in 2167 Rayburn House Office Building.
