Subcommittee on Economic Development, Public Buildings, and Emergency Management Chairman Scott Perry (R-PA) announced that the Subcommittee will hold a hearing to examine the current state of emergency management, including ways to reform the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and federal disaster assistance. 2024 was a challenging year for disaster response and recovery that highlighted cracks in the nation’s emergency management system, prompting a broader conversation about what the future of FEMA should look like and President Trump’s establishment of a FEMA Review Council. The hearing will be held at 10:00 a.m. ET on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, in 2167 Rayburn House Office Building.
