Hearing Seismic Disaster Preparedness in the Pacific Northwest

The Subcommittee on Economic Development, Public Buildings, and Emergency Management will hold a hearing this week to assess the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) role in earthquake hazard preparedness, mitigation, response, and recovery; and to examine the efforts of the Pacific Northwest and seismic hazard experts to reduce disaster impacts and build stronger communities.

The hearing, entitled “Pacific Northwest Seismic Hazards: Planning and Preparing for the Next Disaster,” is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 19, 2015, in 2167 Rayburn House Office Building.
