Graves Welcomes Representative Jimmy Patronis to T&ITransportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Sam Graves (R-MO) today welcomed first-term Congressman Jimmy Patronis, a Republican representing Florida’s 1st Congressional District, to the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. “I’m excited for Congressman Patronis to roll up his sleeves and help the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee with our full agenda this Congress,” said Chairman Graves. “We will be working with the Trump Administration to ensure the safety of our aviation system, funding improvements to our ports and waterways infrastructure, and providing the U.S. Coast Guard with the resources they need to carry out their many critical missions, including stopping the flow of illegal drugs and migrants into the country across our maritime borders. The Committee will also work to pass major legislation that authorizes highway, bridge, and other surface transportation projects across the country, and Congressman Patronis’ legislative experience at the state level will be invaluable to all these efforts.” Rep. Patronis said, “Thank you to Chairman Graves for welcoming me to the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and for the opportunity to help push the America First agenda forward. America’s roadways, waterways, and infrastructure are essential to our nation’s economy and national security. In Florida, our roadways, bridges, and ports are vital to our state’s economic success and become critical tools during national emergencies, such as mandatory evacuations during hurricanes. I’m looking forward to working with my colleagues on the T&I Committee and the Trump Administration to secure our border, support our service members in the Coast Guard, and usher in America’s new golden age.” The Committee today approved Rep. Patronis’ subcommittee assignments. He will serve on the Aviation Subcommittee, the Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation Subcommittee, and the Water Resources and Environment Subcommittee. |
