Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Sam Graves (R-MO) today announced the promotion of Julie Devine to serve as Staff Director of the Subcommittee on Aviation.

Julie first joined the Aviation Subcommittee as a professional staff member in August 2022 and was later promoted to senior professional staff.  Prior to that, she spent five years in Chairman Sam Graves’ office, serving as a Legislative Assistant and later his Legislative Director. While in Rep. Graves’ office, she worked on several National Defense Authorization Acts. Julie has over a decade of experience working in Congress and played a vital role in the passage of last year’s FAA Reauthorization Act of 2024.

“During the more than eight years I've worked with Julie, I've been continuously impressed by her ability to navigate the ins and outs of the legislative process. She has become an expert on the issues facing the aviation industry and was instrumental in developing and passing last year's FAA Reauthorization Act of 2024. I'm confident she will succeed in this new role and provide valuable insight as we work to implement last year's FAA bill and continue to oversee the safety of the aviation system,” said Chairman Graves.
