Joint statement of Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Sam Graves (R-MO) and Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Ranking Member Rick Larsen (D-WA) on the announced retirement of Airlines for America (A4A) President and CEO Nick Calio:

“America is the gold standard for aviation around the world, and for the last 14 years, Nick Calio has played a critical role in ensuring the continued success of the U.S. aviation system and this vital component of our nation’s economy.  Nick has been an effective leader for A4A, including during some very challenging periods for the industry, and a key stakeholder in multiple major aviation laws passed by Congress.  Throughout the process of developing the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2024, Nick was a valued partner in bringing ideas to the table and building strong bipartisan support for the legislation. We appreciate all of Nick’s efforts in advancing aviation policy over the years and congratulate him on his accomplishments, and we wish our friend the best in whatever he chooses to do next.”
