Transportation and Infrastructure Committee to Mark Up Coast Guard Authorization ActWashington, D.C. – Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Sam Graves (R-MO) announced that the Committee will hold a markup of several pieces of legislation at 10:00 a.m. ET on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, in 2167 Rayburn House Office Building. The Committee will consider legislation to strengthen, support, and authorize funding for the United States Coast Guard, one of the Nation’s six armed services, for its critical missions to safeguard the Nation’s borders, facilitate maritime commerce, and ensure maritime safety. This new bill authorizes the Coast Guard through fiscal year 2026 and includes provisions to strengthen protections for members of the Coast Guard from sexual assault and harassment and ensure accountability and transparency as the Coast Guard carries out its planned efforts to provide those protections.
More information about the markup, including full legislative text and a link to the live webcast, will be posted here as it becomes available. |
