Washington, D.C. – Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure Chairman Sam Graves (R-MO) today welcomed U.S. Rep. Celeste Maloy (R-UT) to the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.

“Congresswoman Maloy joins the Committee at an important time in our work to improve America’s infrastructure,” said Chairman Graves.  “Congress still needs to complete action on the long-term reauthorizations for the FAA, pipeline safety programs, and the Coast Guard that have passed the Committee this year with broad support.  These bills are critical to the safe and secure transportation of people and energy resources throughout our country and abroad.  T&I is also beginning the process of developing legislation for next year – the Water Resources Development Act – to improve ports, inland waterways, flood protection, and other water resources infrastructure nationwide.  I look forward to Congresswoman Maloy’s contributions in these efforts, as well as our ongoing oversight of the Biden Administration to prevent fraud, waste, and abuse in its implementation of the infrastructure law.”

“I would like to thank Chairman Graves for the opportunity to be a part of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee,” said Rep. Maloy.  “I have worked for many years to support key water, road, aviation, and infrastructure projects throughout Utah’s Second Congressional District.  As one of the fastest growing states in the nation, Utah needs strong support from this committee, and I am excited to represent the people in my district to tackle the needs of the country.  I am honored to continue this work on one of the most critical and impactful committees in Congress.”

Congresswoman Maloy was sworn in on November 28, 2023.  She will serve on the Subcommittee on Economic Development, Public Buildings, and Emergency Management, the Subcommittee on Highways and Transit, and the Subcommittee on Water Resources and Environment.  Updated rosters for the Committee and the Subcommittees are available here.
