Subcommittee Will Hold Roundtable on Modernizing Nation’s Airspace SystemThe Subcommittee on Aviation, chaired by U.S. Rep. Frank LoBiondo (R-NJ), will hold a roundtable policy discussion on Wednesday to examine the issues related to modernizing and improving the efficiency of the United States air traffic control (ATC) system. One of the Committee’s highest priorities this year is a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reauthorization that helps ensure ATC modernization and lays the groundwork for the future of the U.S. aviation system. Roundtable participants will include representatives of the Department of Transportation Office of the Inspector General, National Air Traffic Controllers Association, Honeywell, Airlines for America, the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, and Reason Foundation. The roundtable, entitled “Issues Regarding Modernizing and Operating the Nation’s Airspace System,” is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 in 2167 Rayburn House Office Building.
