U.S. Department of Transportation Selects Projects to Receive INFRA Program Grants

The U.S. Department of Transportation (U.S. DOT) selected the following projects to receive approximately $1.5 billion in grant funding under the Nationally Significant Freight and Highway Projects Program, also known as the INFRA program.  The program is a competitive grant program that was included in the “Fixing America’s Surface Transportation Act” (FAST Act) to provide funding for nationally significant highway, bridge, and freight projects. Under the program’s terms, U.S. DOT is required to give the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, and the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee at least 60 days’ notice before a grant is awarded to a project.  During this 60-day period, Congress may pass a joint resolution of disapproval if a project is found objectionable.
