Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Bill Shuster (R-PA) released the following statement today after the House voted to send a measure approving construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline project to the President:

“Keystone will create tens of thousands of jobs in America, will strengthen our energy independence, and will only help improve energy costs, all without costing taxpayers a dime.  This is an opportunity for the President to listen to the American people, who support this project; listen to labor groups and the 3 million workers they represent, who support this project; listen to his own State and Transportation Departments, which have said this project would be the safest pipeline ever built and would have no significant impact on the environment.  I urge the President to do the right thing for America and sign this bill.”
