Purpose of the Hearing

The Subcommittee on Water Resources and Environment will meet on Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at 10:30 a.m., in room 2167 of the Rayburn House Office building to receive testimony from representatives from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Tennessee Valley Authority, the TVA Office of Inspector General, and engineering firms.  The purpose of this hearing is to receive updates as to the status of the Kingston ash slide cleanup efforts, and also analysis of the root cause of the Kingston surface impoundment collapse.
