PURPOSE OF THE HEARING

The Subcommittee on Railroads, Pipelines, and Hazardous Materials met on Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at 11 a.m. in 2167 Rayburn House Office Building to receive testimony on investment in the rail industry.  The purpose of the hearing was to examine recent interest by Wall Street investors in the railroad industry, including concerns raised by the activities of the Children's Investment Fund, a hedge fund.
