Purpose of the Hearing

The Subcommittee on Railroads, Pipelines, and Hazardous Materials is scheduled to meet on Monday, November 16, 2009, at 1:00 p.m., on the 16th floor of the William Donald Schaefer Tower, 6 St. Paul Street, Baltimore, Maryland, to receive testimony on the reauthorization of the Department of Transportation's (DOT) hazardous materials safety program.  The hearing will focus on issues in H.R. 4016, the "Hazardous Materials Transportation Safety Act of 2009" and, in particular, the sections dealing with wet lines and lithium batteries.
